The National Defense Administration has announced the signing of a strategic investment agreement with India’s Tata Advanced Systems Limited, aimed at enhancing defense cooperation between Morocco and India.
This move is part of Morocco’s broader efforts to develop its defense sector and strengthen South-South cooperation, further positioning the country as a regional hub for defense mobility equipment production.
The agreement focuses on meeting both domestic and international defense demands, offering financial, tax, and customs incentives.
The agreement was signed by the Ministers of National Defense, Interior, Finance, and Industry, in the presence of representatives from the Royal Armed Forces and the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development.
Set to be completed within 36 months, this project is part of a larger initiative to bolster Morocco’s strategic autonomy in the defense sector.
With a local integration rate of 35%, expected to rise to 50% upon project completion, the initiative is projected to create 90 direct jobs and 250 indirect jobs, supporting Morocco’s industrial ecosystem and enhancing its attractiveness to international investors.
Tata Advanced Systems Limited, with its global expertise in defense systems manufacturing, is one of the first international players to invest in Morocco’s defense sector, further solidifying the country’s role as an emerging regional player in defense industries.
