The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a “Red” alert level warning, indicating that the regions of Es-Smara and Assa-Zag will experience strong thunderstorms with rainfall amounts ranging between 70 and 120 mm. This weather event will start today, Thursday, at 2 p.m. and is expected to last until Friday at 11 p.m.
Additionally, the Directorate has issued an “Orange” level alert for other regions, including Tata, Zagora, Taroudant, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Errachidia, and Figuig. These areas will also witness thunderstorms, possibly accompanied by hail, with rainfall amounts expected to range between 30 and 60 mm. These rains will begin on Friday from 1 p.m. and continue until 11 p.m.
Authorities are urging residents in these regions to exercise caution and stay informed of further updates.
