On Monday, Fouzi Lekjaa, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance in charge of the Budget, was involved in a car accident in the city of Salé.
The incident occurred while Lekjaa, who also serves as the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, was on his way to the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé, just before the kickoff of the national futsal team’s match against Tajikistan.
According to concordant sources, Lekjaa’s vehicle collided with a car belonging to an official from a cleaning company. Although both vehicles suffered significant material damage, the accident did not result in any injuries to the individuals involved.
In a related context, the Lions of Futsal began their campaign at the 2024 Futsal World Cup in Uzbekistan on a positive note, securing a victory against the Tajikistan team with a score of four goals to two. This match was the first in the group stage of the World Cup.
This dual event highlights the challenges that government officials may face in performing their duties, as well as the sporting achievements of the Moroccan national team in international arenas.
