Senior Police Officer in Kalaat Sraghna Arrested in Drug Trafficking Case

Marrakech – In a disturbing development, Moroccan security authorities have uncovered and arrested a senior police officer working in the city of Kalaat Sraghna, accused of involvement in drug possession and trafficking. A judicial investigation into the case was opened under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor on Thursday, September 12th.

According to informed sources, the arrest operation came based on precise information provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance. The suspected officer was apprehended while in a light vehicle in Kalaat Sraghna, where he was found in possession of a large quantity of drugs, including 10 kilograms of hashish and 109 grams of cocaine.

In a subsequent development of the case, security authorities executed an operation in a rural area on the outskirts of Kalaat Sraghna, resulting in the arrest of another person suspected of involvement in drug distribution. A utility vehicle containing a large quantity of kif drug was also seized, along with various weapons and suspected forged license plates.

A security source stated that the suspects have been placed under guard custody, while investigations continue to uncover all details of the case and arrest the remaining accomplices.

For its part, the General Directorate of National Security took immediate action by temporarily suspending the accused police officer from duty, pending the completion of judicial procedures and the determination of disciplinary responsibilities.

This incident highlights the challenges facing security agencies in combating drug trafficking and emphasizes the importance of constant vigilance and internal oversight to ensure the integrity of security personnel.

Investigations remain ongoing to reveal more details about this case, which has shaken both security and social circles in Morocco.
