16.4 kg of Hashish Seized at Bab Sebta Border Crossing

Customs and national security officials at the Bab Sebta border crossing successfully seized 16.4 kg of hashish during a thorough monitoring operation on Monday.

Details of the Operation

According to a customs source, the officers from the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration and the General Directorate of National Security, working in the departure area of the Bab Sebta crossing, managed to confiscate this quantity of drugs while inspecting vehicles leaving through the border.The source further explained that the drugs were prepared in the form of slabs and wrapped in adhesive tape. They were carefully hidden inside the air conditioning unit, behind the dashboard of a light vehicle registered in Spain.

Driver Handed Over to Judicial Police

The driver of the vehicle, a Moroccan national, has been referred to the judicial police for further investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor. Meanwhile, customs officials have seized the vehicle involved for the purposes of the investigation.
