Development works on the 50-hectare Ain Baida industrial zone near the city of Fes are progressing steadily, as part of the local authorities’ efforts to bring the area out of the economic isolation it has suffered for years.
The project involves equipping the industrial zone with all necessary infrastructure, including the construction of main and secondary road networks, a sanitation system, the provision of potable water, electricity, street lighting, and communication networks. A plant for treating wastewater, a gas storage area, and another for converting olive oil into marketable products will also be built, in addition to allocating green spaces for the area.
This project is part of the local authorities’ strategy to promote industrial investment and improve infrastructure in the Fes-Meknes region, with the aim of increasing the region’s attractiveness to investors and expanding the offerings of industrial zones to meet their needs.
According to officials, the creation of this industrial zone will contribute to strengthening the industrial fabric in the region, increasing competitiveness, and creating new job opportunities, reflecting the efforts made to achieve sustainable development and economic and social balance in the region.
This step comes within the context of the growing interest in developing industrial infrastructure in Morocco, which is one of the most important drivers of economic growth in the country.
