Media reports have stated that Bulgaria has begun refusing entry to Armenian citizens holding Schengen visas, sending them back to Armenia after their arrival at Sofia Airport. These citizens confirmed that border guards not only prevented their entry but also detained them for hours or even days, and in some cases, they were subjected to mistreatment.
The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that this refusal is due to changes in travel routes after obtaining the visa, as changing the original purpose of the trip is considered a reason for refusal. For example, if a person indicates in their visa application that they will spend 10 days in Bulgaria, but later changes their plan to spend only three days and then move to Italy or another Schengen country, this change may lead to their entry being refused.
Therefore, Moroccans wishing to travel to European Union countries are advised to adhere to the plan declared in their visa application and not to modify it after obtaining the visa to avoid potential problems when entering EU countries.
