The General Directorate of Meteorology in Morocco has issued an orange level vigilance warning for several regions in the kingdom, forecasting strong thunderstorms accompanied by hail and active winds for today, Wednesday.
The weather bulletin explained that these climatic phenomena will be experienced in the affected areas starting from 1:00 PM until 11:00 PM, with expected rainfall amounts ranging between 20 to 35 mm.
The regions concerned by this warning include the provinces and prefectures of: Boulemane, Taza, Ifrane, Khenifra, Midelt, Sefrou, Al Hoceima, Guercif, Driouch, Jerada, and Taourirt.
The Directorate called on citizens to exercise caution and be vigilant during this period, given the potential risks these weather fluctuations may cause, such as flash floods in mountainous areas and landslides.
The relevant authorities have also advised on the necessity of taking preventive measures to ensure the safety of citizens and protect property in areas exposed to these weather disturbances.
