Communication Forum for Moroccans of the World Concludes its Conference in Casablanca with Important Recommendations

The Communication Forum for Moroccans of the World concluded its conference held in Casablanca on August 10, 2024, under the theme “Morocco’s Aspirations 2030”. The conference discussed issues of citizenship, development, and solidarity, with the participation of a diverse group of Moroccan citizens from within the kingdom and from various diaspora countries.

The conference concluded with several key recommendations, including:

  1. Expediting the implementation of constitutional provisions related to Moroccans residing abroad and finding a solution for their political participation.
  2. Accelerating the issuance of the new law for the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad.
  3. Institutionalizing dialogue with democratic actors and creating consultation spaces between associations of Moroccans worldwide and embassies and consulates.
  4. Establishing a framework for dialogue and consultation involving the Ministry of Justice, Public Prosecution, Supreme Council of the Judiciary, Bar Associations, and representatives of Moroccan diaspora associations.
  5. Facilitating travel and access to health services for elderly and retired Moroccans living abroad.
  6. Working towards creating a climate of genuine political openness and broad national reconciliation.
  7. Giving special attention to issues of rising far-right and anti-immigrant xenophobic forces.
  8. Comprehensive review of the management of national culture and Moroccan cultural identity issues.
  9. Creating a network of civil society actors and organizations for Moroccans worldwide to coordinate solidarity efforts.
  10. Developing a new strategy to defend the territorial integrity issue in international forums.
  11. Paying special attention to the issues of youth and migrant women.

The organizers emphasized the importance of these recommendations in enhancing the full citizenship rights of Moroccans worldwide, in line with the 2011 Constitution and Royal directives.
