From the Text of the Pledge of Allegiance of the Noble People of Oued Eddahab to His Majesty King Hassan II, May God Rest His Soul

On August 14, 1979, in the Capital Rabat:

“Our nobles, scholars, notables, men, women, elders, and youth have gathered, and we unanimously and unwaveringly agreed to renew, to the Commander of the Faithful and Protector of the Faith, our Lord Hassan II, may God preserve him with the seven verses of praise, the pledge of allegiance that our fathers and grandfathers had given to his noble fathers and grandfathers. May God bless their souls in the abode of peace. We pledged allegiance to him as the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, was pledged under the Tree of Ridwan. We affirmed his rule, committed to his obedience, and offered our counsel at all times. We are his supporters, allies, soldiers, and we stand with those who stand with him and oppose those who oppose him.”

King Hassan II, may God rest his soul, addressed the sons of the heroic Sahrawi tribes, saying:

“Today, we have received from you the pledge of allegiance, and we shall cherish and protect it as the most precious and valuable trust. From today, our pledge is upon you, and from today, it is our duty to defend your safety, preserve your security, and always strive to bring you happiness. We thank God Almighty with the deepest gratitude and praise that He has completed His grace upon us by uniting the south with the north, reconnecting family ties, and strengthening bonds.”
