In an incident that caused significant concern, a plane arriving from Agadir was isolated and grounded on Sunday, August 11, at Paris Orly Airport in France, following a false bomb alert on board.
According to the French newspaper “Actu Paris,” the aircraft belonging to the French airline Transavia was immobilized on the airport runway after a potential threat was reported on board.
The same source explained that a crew member noticed that the name of an electronic device used by one of the passengers, which appeared via Bluetooth, could be interpreted as a security threat. The passenger in question had named their device “Improvised Explosive Device.”
As a result, the flight crew took necessary measures to ensure the safety of the flight and during landing, alerting the relevant authorities. Security forces were present when the plane from Morocco landed.
After a thorough inspection of the aircraft, which remained on the runway for more than two hours, nothing that could pose a threat was found on board.
The same media reported that the teenager involved was taken into custody for communicating false information compromising the safety of an aircraft in flight. He was later released, according to the prosecutor’s office in Évry (Essonne), which added that the investigation is ongoing.
This incident highlights the importance of caution when using electronic devices during flights and the consequences of irresponsible jokes in such sensitive situations.
