Morocco Launches Ambitious Football Development Project in Partnership with OCP

In a significant move towards enhancing the future of Moroccan football, the National Professional Football League and the Office Chérifien des Phosphates (OCP) are set to launch the “OCP Sport Development” project at a special ceremony on Tuesday in Tetouan.

This ambitious project aims to develop football practice in the Kingdom, focusing on providing professional training and creating high-quality sports infrastructure. Representatives from national clubs are expected to attend the event, with the Maghreb Athletic Club of Fez (MAS Fez) being represented by Mr. Mohamed Moutawakil, the club’s General Secretary, and Mr. Lotfi Lazaar, the director of the training center.

In a related context, informed sources revealed that MAS Fez has requested a meeting with the Professional Football League on Wednesday. This meeting aims to discuss dispute files in which judgments have been issued against the club and to determine a roadmap for resolving these disputes. The club will be represented in this meeting by the General Manager and one of the club’s lawyers.

This dual move – launching the development project and seeking to resolve existing disputes – reflects a strong desire to improve the state of Moroccan football at both administrative and technical levels. The “OCP Sport Development” project is expected to contribute to raising the level of the game locally, which may positively impact the performance of national teams and Moroccan clubs in international forums.

It’s worth noting that the partnership between the National Professional Football League and OCP represents a model of cooperation between the public and private sectors in the sports field, which may open the door for more investments in this vital sector.

As Moroccan fans look forward to more details about this promising project, hopes are high that it will contribute to achieving a qualitative leap in the journey of Moroccan football and enhance its position on the global map of the game.

This initiative comes at a time when Moroccan football is gaining international recognition, following the national team’s historic performance in the 2022 World Cup. The “OCP Sport Development” project is seen as a strategic step to capitalize on this momentum and further develop football at all levels across the country.

Experts in the field anticipate that this project could lead to the discovery and nurturing of new talent, improved coaching standards, and the creation of world-class facilities. These advancements are expected to benefit not only professional football but also grassroots development, potentially transforming Morocco into a football powerhouse in Africa and beyond.
