On the morning of Saturday, August 10, the Regional Police Judicial Service in Sla, in close coordination with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DST), successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle 15,105 tablets of psychoactive substances.
The security operation led to the arrest of three individuals, aged between 22 and 36, two of whom have prior criminal records. They are suspected of being linked to a criminal network involved in drug trafficking and psychoactive substances.
The suspects were apprehended at a toll station on the highway shortly after arriving in a light vehicle from one of the northern cities of the kingdom. A search revealed that they were in possession of 15,105 tablets of “Rivotril,” a type of prescription drug, as well as 115,850 dirhams, which are suspected to be proceeds from this criminal activity.
The suspects are undergoing judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, aiming to uncover all circumstances and details of the case, as well as to apprehend other potential participants and accomplices in this criminal activity.
