The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued its forecast for Sunday, August 4, 2024, predicting hot weather in several regions of the kingdom.
According to the bulletin, hot weather is expected to prevail in the plains west of the Atlas, the central regions, the southeast of the country, and the eastern parts of the southern provinces. Fog formations are also anticipated near the Atlantic coasts and along the Mediterranean shore.
The sky will be clear to partly cloudy over the Atlas Mountains, its surrounding areas, and the southern part of the eastern region. Some scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in the extreme south of the country during the night.
Local dust-raising winds are forecast in the south, with relatively strong gusts in the southern part of the eastern region, the Atlas Mountains, and the central and southern coasts.
Minimum temperatures will range between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius in the central regions, the Anti-Atlas areas, the east, the far southeast, and the eastern parts of the southern provinces. Temperatures will vary between 15 and 22 degrees in the highlands and near the coasts, and between 21 and 25 degrees elsewhere.
Daytime temperatures are expected to decrease in the south, while remaining stable or increasing in other areas.
Regarding sea conditions, the Mediterranean will be calm to locally calm, the Strait of Gibraltar will be calm to slightly rough, and the waters between Casablanca and Tarfaya will be rough. The sea is expected to be locally rough to strong in the morning between Cape Sim and Cape Ghir, and slightly rough to rough in other areas.
