Minister of Interior Abdelwafi Lefteit chaired on Thursday, in Tetouan, an important practical meeting on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the throne, which brought together prefects and workers in charge of the territorial administration and the central departments of the Ministry of Interior.
The meeting was attended by a number of prominent figures, including the Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie, the Director General of National Security and Surveillance, the Director General of Studies and Documents, the Director General of the Prison and Reintegration Administration, the Inspector General of the Auxiliary Forces for the North and South, the General Director General of Civil Protection, and the Brigadier General of the Inspector General of the Auxiliary Forces for the South.
The meeting was an opportunity to revisit the royal directives contained in the anniversary speech, expressing their deep gratitude for the wise management of His Majesty the King, which has made Morocco a model to be emulated in many fields, said the Interior Ministry’s communiqué.
The communiqué pointed out the importance of positive interaction with the developments related to the first national issue, especially the French position that recognizes Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara.
The ministry stressed that the current stage requires the concerted efforts of all actors, especially governors and workers, to support development programs and strengthen the role of territorial communities.
The Ministry of Interior is proud of the cohesion of the internal front and the unity of the ranks, praising the high spirit of patriotism of the inhabitants of the southern provinces and the sheikhs of the Saharawi tribes, and emphasizing the need to intensify efforts to make the social state project a success and the commitment of all actors.
As part of the evaluation of public policies, the meeting reviewed strategic issues such as addressing “water stress”, “advanced regionalization”, “administrative decentralization”, “the National Initiative for Human Development”, and “the management of ancestral lands”. They discussed ways to enhance governance and innovation in these vital areas.
As for the General Population and Housing Census to be conducted next month, the Ministry of Interior expressed its full readiness to cooperate with the High Commission for Planning and mobilize all the necessary resources to ensure the success of the operation.
Underlining the importance of preparing for major international dates, the communiqué stressed the need to enhance mobilization, develop infrastructure and ensure effective coordination between all stakeholders.
At the end of the meeting, the Ministry of Interior paid tribute to the strong work carried out by its services, praised the harmony and cooperation between institutions, and reiterated its firm commitment to serve the nation under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
