The anti-gang squad of the Meknes Security Prefecture, in close cooperation with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, managed on Thursday to arrest a 29-year-old man with a previous criminal record, suspected of being involved in the possession and trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
The suspect was arrested at the traffic control point at the entrance to the city of Meknes, while arriving in a taxi coming from a city in the north of the Kingdom, and during the search operation, he was found in possession of 1090 “Ecstasy” hallucinogenic tablets, according to a statement by the General Directorate of National Intelligence.
The suspect was found to be the subject of a nationwide search warrant issued by the judicial police for his involvement in similar cases related to the trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances.
The suspect was taken into custody, pending the completion of the judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, in order to uncover all the criminal acts attributed to him.
