The office of the Association of Moroccan Bar Associations issued a statement on Friday, July 25, 2024, announcing a series of protest actions against the Civil Procedure Act that was approved by the House of Representatives.
At the beginning of the statement, the office recommended postponing all general assemblies previously announced by the councils of the associations. It also decided to organize a national sit-in in front of the Parliament on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 12 pm, wearing professional attire.
The office also decided to wear protest badges on the attire starting from Monday, July 29, 2024, calling on all lawyers to immediately mobilize to make this initial protest stage a success.
The statement praised the unprecedented response to the previous three-day work stoppage, calling on all lawyers to rally around their professional institutions.
It also emphasized the continuation of the open meeting to implement the escalating protest program in coordination with the professional cadres, expressing its slogan “Long live free and independent lawyers.”
