Scam and Fraud Messages Invade Moroccans

Recently, Moroccans’ mobile phones have been hit by a new wave of scam and fraud messages, containing false information aimed at deceiving users and stealing their money. Fes News received an image of one of these messages that came from an Indian number containing details about an alleged account and a large sum of money, in an attempt to lure victims.

The message contains a new account number and secret code, claiming that the balance in the account is 1,620,096.50 USDT. The message prompts the user to visit a suspicious website on the internet to obtain this amount, putting them at great risk if they respond to such messages.

These messages usually come from international numbers, such as the one shown in the image (+91 82395 65886), and use sophisticated deception tactics to lure users with the promise of huge profits or financial rewards. Experts advise against interacting with such messages and not providing any personal or financial information.

The Digital Content Observatory in Morocco urges citizens to be cautious and report any similar messages to the relevant authorities to prevent more victims from falling into the trap of scams and fraud. The observatory also stresses the importance of raising awareness about the dangers of these messages and how to handle them intelligently and cautiously.
