Remarkable Increase in Moroccan Prisoners’ Success Rate in 2024 Baccalaureate Exams

The General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration in Morocco has reported unprecedented results for inmates in the Baccalaureate certificate examinations for the 2023/2024 academic year. The number of successful candidates reached 898 inmates, marking a 39% increase compared to the previous year.

A statement issued by the Delegation on Monday indicated a rise in the success rate to 64.19%, compared to 47.08% in 2023. In the supplementary session alone, 332 out of 514 candidates passed, achieving a success rate of 64.59%, surpassing the national average of 54.5% for independent candidates.

Notably, 290 inmates, equivalent to 32.29% of the total successful candidates, received grades ranging from “commendable” to “very good”.

The Delegation praised these exceptional results, encouraging inmates to continue their efforts in academic achievement to attain further success in their educational and academic journeys.

These positive outcomes reflect the efforts of the General Delegation for Prison Administration in providing education and rehabilitation opportunities for inmates, contributing to their better reintegration into society after serving their sentences.
