Rabat – The Henley Passport Index, published by Henley & Partners in London, has revealed that the Moroccan passport ranks 72nd globally in its latest classification. The Moroccan passport allows its holders to enter 67 countries without the need for a prior visa.
The Moroccan passport has advanced one position over the past six months, as Morocco recently added Thailand, Cape Verde, and Azerbaijan to the list of destinations that can be visited without a visa. With these new additions, the number of visa-free destinations available to Moroccan citizens has risen to 73 worldwide.
In addition to countries that can be traveled to without a visa, Moroccan citizens can also visit 4 other countries using an electronic travel authorization. However, a visa is still required for entry into 117 countries.
The Henley Passport Index has given the Moroccan passport a mobility score of 81, with an overall mobility rate of 41%.
It’s worth noting that the Henley Passport Index, created by Henley & Partners consulting firm since 2005, is the only ranking of its kind based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The index covers 199 passports and 227 different travel destinations and has become a reference tool for evaluating passports in terms of global mobility.
In the 2024 ranking, Singapore holds the top position for the second consecutive year, with its passport allowing visa-free access to 195 out of 227 destinations worldwide. Tied for second place are France, Germany, Japan, Italy, and Spain, with passports allowing visits to 194 destinations without a visa. Australia ranks third, with access to 193 destinations, sharing this position with Austria, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and South Korea.
