Expanded meetings headed by the Minister of Interior to discuss preparations for the 2030 World Cup

Interior Minister Abdelwafi Lefteit chaired, on Wednesday, an enlarged meeting at the headquarters of the Marrakech-Asfi governorate to discuss the progress of preparations for the organization of the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

The meeting was attended by the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Association (AMF), Faouzi Lekjaa, the governor of the Marrakech-Asfi region, Farid Chourak, as well as representatives of public institutions, external services and various stakeholders involved in the preparations for the global sporting event.

Liftit stressed that this meeting is part of a series of intensive meetings taking place in the host cities of the 2030 World Cup, aimed at accelerating the pace of preparations and ensuring the success of this major global event.

The minister stressed the importance of mobilizing the financial and human resources needed to organize a world-class World Cup, noting that the success of this event will contribute to promoting the Red City as an exceptional destination globally.

For his part, Faouzi Lekjaa pointed to Marrakech’s ability to host international events, stressing that organizing the World Cup will boost the city’s economic growth and development, and will contribute to enhancing its international reputation.

The meeting reviewed the preparation and infrastructure projects for stadiums, training sites, transportation, accommodation and sustainable development, in line with FIFA’s requirements, with the aim of securing a world-class infrastructure to host this global sporting event.
