Based on accurate information from the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGTS), police officers at the Oujda Security Directorate arrested seven people suspected of being part of a criminal network active in the international trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
The operation was carried out simultaneously in the cities of Oujda and Bouarfa, resulting in the seizure of a huge quantity of drugs amounting to 690 kilograms of Shira, distributed in 24 packages, as well as a white weapon and a motorcycle, in addition to five cars and 16 national and foreign license plates that are currently undergoing verification of their origin.
The screening of the suspects in the national security database showed that one of them was the subject of two national search warrants issued by the judicial police services in the cities of Rachidia and Oujda, on suspicion of involvement in similar cases related to international drug trafficking and fraud.
The arrested suspects have been subjected to judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, with the aim of identifying the possible extensions of this criminal activity and arresting the rest of those involved in these criminal acts.
This successful security operation comes within the framework of the continuous efforts made by the General Directorate of National Security to combat the phenomenon of smuggling drugs and psychotropic substances, and to promote security and stability throughout the Kingdom of Morocco.
