Mustafa Baitas, the official spokesperson for the Moroccan government, has announced a government decision to increase the salaries of nurses and health technicians in both the public sector and inter-ministerial departments.
According to the official statement, the increase will cover two main categories:
- The nursing staff working under the Ministry of Health.
- The nursing staff and health technicians shared between various ministries.
Baitas clarified that the increase will be a net monthly amount of 1,000 Moroccan dirhams for each beneficiary, which is considered a significant step in improving the financial conditions of healthcare workers.
This decision comes as part of the Moroccan government’s efforts to strengthen the health sector and motivate its workers, especially in light of the challenges the sector has faced in recent years, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
The measure is expected to boost the morale of healthcare workers and improve the quality of health services provided to Moroccan citizens.
The implementation date for this increase has not been announced, but it is likely to come into effect in the near future.
