“Iberdus Electricos: Morocco is at the forefront of Stellantis’ global automotive strategy

Morocco is establishing itself as a preferred investment destination for global automaker Stellantis, according to the Spanish automotive industry magazine Iberdrolos y Electricos. According to a report published by the magazine on Monday, the multinational company considers Morocco the destination “with the greatest potential for its investments” in the face of global competitive challenges.

Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis, made the remarks during the announcement of a new €300 million investment to expand the group’s plant in Kenitra. Tavares emphasized that Morocco is poised to become “the third engine of Stellantis,” describing the Kingdom as “a country with great conditions for investment.”

Founded in 2021 as a result of the merger of PSA and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Stellantis is one of the world’s largest automakers.

The Kenitra plant, which opened in 2019, is central to the company’s global strategy. It forms a key part of Stellantis’ ambitious “Dare Forward 2030” plan, which aims to transform Kenitra into a “hub” to cater to both local and European markets.

This strategic direction reflects Morocco’s growing importance in the global automotive industry and highlights the Kingdom’s ability to attract huge investments in this vital sector, reinforcing its position as a regional and global industrial center.
