In the 1445 Hajj season, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs confirmed today that there have been no “unusual” deaths among Moroccan pilgrims.
The ministry noted that the number of recorded deaths amounted to 20 so far in this year’s Hajj.
According to a statement issued by the ministry on the “deaths of Moroccan pilgrims,” these cases were recorded during the operations of the official organization as well as the organization of tourist agencies, which is almost the same number as last year at the same period.
The ministry added that over the past 20 decades, the average number of deaths among Moroccan pilgrims has been between 30 and 45 per year.
Regarding this year’s deaths, the statement emphasized that they were “natural deaths,” noting that 15 percent of Moroccan pilgrims this year are over 80 years old.
