The Moroccan people join the Royal Family on Thursday to joyfully celebrate the 54th birthday of HRH Prince Moulay Rachid. This happy event offers all Moroccans the opportunity to express their warm congratulations and sincere wishes for happiness and long life to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, and the entire Royal Family.
Born on June 20, 1970, in Rabat, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid earned a degree in Public Law (Internal Administration option) with honors in May 1993, as well as a diploma in Comparative Law from the Faculty of Legal, Economic, and Social Sciences in Rabat. Three years later, His Royal Highness obtained a second certificate of higher studies (International Relations option) with honors.
On May 18, 2001, His Royal Highness publicly defended a doctoral thesis in Law at Montesquieu-Bordeaux IV University on “The Organization of the Islamic Conference: Study of a Specific International Organization,” which was awarded the highest distinction with congratulations from the jury and a special mention for its publication, given the importance of the subject and the quality of the work.
From a young age, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid has shown interest in cultural, social, and sporting activities. Since 1997, His Royal Highness has chaired the Moroccan National Scouting Federation, bringing new dynamism to the organization. With the same spirit and commitment, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid chairs the Royal Moroccan Federation of Hunting Rifle Shooting, the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation, and the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association. Since January 2018, His Royal Highness has also chaired the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation.
His Royal Highness presides over major events in various fields and official ceremonies, representing His Majesty the King at significant national and international events, promoting Morocco on international and regional stages.
On October 16, 2023, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid presided over the opening of the 14th El Jadida Horse Show, held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, themed “The Horse and Sustainable Development.”
On November 25, 2023, His Royal Highness, President of the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation, presided over a dinner hosted by His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the occasion of the official opening of the 20th edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival.
Furthermore, by order of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Amir Al-Mouminine, rogatory prayers (Salat Al-Istisqa) were performed on December 1 at Al-Masjid Al-Aâdam in Rabat, attended by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, perpetuating the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad whenever rain is scarce.
On December 18, His Royal Highness represented His Majesty King Mohammed VI in Kuwait, offering condolences following the death of Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. His Royal Highness conveyed the condolences of His Majesty the King during an audience with the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
On February 23, 2024, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid presided over a gala dinner in Rabat hosted by His Majesty the King on the occasion of the 48th Hassan II Golf Trophy and the 27th Lalla Meryem Cup, held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI from February 19 to 24. The following day, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Moulay Rachid and Princess Lalla Meryem presided over the award ceremony for the winners of these events at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat.
On April 25, His Royal Highness presided over a dinner at Mechouar Stinia-Sahrij Souani in Meknes, hosted by His Majesty the King in honor of the guests and participants of the 16th International Agricultural Show in Morocco.
The anniversary of HRH Prince Moulay Rachid thus serves as an opportunity for the entire Moroccan people to reaffirm their unwavering loyalty to the Glorious Alaouite Throne and their constant mobilization behind His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the success of the major development projects initiated by the Sovereign for the prosperity of His loyal people.
