Makkah Al Mukarramah – The Holy Sites of Arafat witnessed today a grand scene of faith, as pilgrims began to flock to Muzdalifah in a blessed journey of faith, after performing the greatest pillar of Hajj, the Standing at Arafat, as part of the Hajj rituals this year.
This journey is known as the “Nafr” from Arafat, which begins after sunset on the Day of Arafat, corresponding to the ninth of Dhul Hijjah.
The “Nafr” is considered the third stage of the pilgrims’ movements to perform the Hajj rituals, after the Day of Tarwiyah and the Standing at Arafat.
Upon reaching Muzdalifah, pilgrims will perform the Maghrib and Isha prayers together, shortened and combined, and spend the night in this holy site before heading to the Mina Mina on the morning of the tenth of Dhul Hijjah (Eid al-Adha) to complete the remaining rituals of the Day of Tashریق.
Rites of the Day of Tashریق in Mina
In Mina, pilgrims will perform the stoning of the Jamarat Al Aqba, the sacrifice of the Hadi (sacrificial animals), the Tawaf al-Ifadah around the Holy Kaaba, the Sa’i between Safa and Marwah, and then shave their heads and break their ihram.

The pedestrian paths in the Holy Sites, extending from the Arafat area to Mina, passing through Muzdalifah, with a length of 25 kilometers, witness a massive human movement, as they are considered the longest pedestrian walkway in the world, and annually witness the largest human gathering in the world during the Hajj season.
