Drug Trafficking Network Busted in Tetouan, 7 Kilograms of Cocaine Seized

Tetouan, Morocco – As part of ongoing security operations to combat drugs on both national and international levels, elements of the Anti-Gang Squad of the Tetouan Security District, in coordination with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, successfully dismantled a criminal network specializing in the trafficking of cocaine and psychotropic drugs, on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.

According to a security source, the operation resulted in the arrest of three individuals between the ages of 32 and 41, one of whom has a criminal record, in the city of Larache.

The source explained that the suspects were caught red-handed in possession and trafficking of drugs. The search and inspection operation led to the seizure of a significant quantity of drugs and psychotropic substances, including 7 kilograms and 552 grams of cocaine, and 894 narcotic medical tablets of various types.

The operation also resulted in the seizure of a white weapon, three electronic scales, and a sum of 70 million centimes suspected to be from the proceeds of drug trafficking.

The source indicated that the suspects were placed in police custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to uncover all the circumstances of this case, identify the rest of the extensions of this criminal network, and arrest all those involved in these criminal acts.

This successful security operation comes within the framework of the continuous efforts made by the General Directorate of National Security and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance to combat the phenomenon of drugs and drug trafficking, and to protect society from its dangers.
