Oujtat El Haj, Morocco – June 10, 2024 – Residents of Oujtat El Haj city center are experiencing a shortage of potable water due to a decrease in production from water wells.
In response to this issue, the Oujtat El Haj commune held a meeting on Monday, June 10, 2024, attended by representatives of local authorities and the National Office of Electricity and Potable Water (ONEE), to discuss solutions to this crisis.
According to the meeting minutes, a decision was made to temporarily cut off the potable water supply from midnight to 6:00 AM, starting from the date of this statement.
Mr. Sidi Ahmed Abdel Daim, Pasha of Oujtat El Haj city, explained in a statement that this temporary measure is a necessary solution to address the shortage of potable water, pending the completion of the new water well that was recently drilled in Tamrassaat, as well as the launch of a new project to drill a water well in Ahl Oujtat neighborhood.
The Pasha called on the residents of the city center to cooperate and show solidarity in order to rationalize the consumption of potable water, stressing that the commune is working diligently to resolve this crisis definitively as soon as possible.
