A group of low-income beneficiaries of the royal gift for the Izdhar residence in Meknes are preparing to hold a protest tomorrow, Monday, in front of the headquarters of Al Omran Group, demanding that the process of benefiting from the royal gift be accelerated.
The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, on: 10 September 2019 ref: Letter No. 19/123, dated 10/09/2019, had written to the Directorate of Endowments in Meknes, regarding the opposition to the real estate drawing No. 59/77798 in Meknes and announced that ‘the Commander of the Faithful, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, has kindly authorised the conservation of the property belonging to Al Omran, which includes part of the land of Sidi Bouzekri in Meknes. This property is registered with the original cadastre number K/4630 with an area of 72 hectares 27 R32 centimetres.
The price of this property is AED 160.00 per square metre and includes a total amount of AED 43,733,520.00.
The project includes the allocation of this land to build housing units for low-income people, in coordination with local authorities.”
On the other hand, and in a related context, the Meknes Endowments Department wrote to the president of the Future Association for Human Development, under no: 2316 dated: 02 June 2021, on the subject of the list of beneficiaries of the Azdhar subdivision, in response to his correspondence dated 02/06/2021, stating that:
“Based on the above-mentioned letter, regarding the final list of beneficiaries of the remaining plots of the Azdhar subdivision, we would like to inform you of the following:
The final list of beneficiaries of the subdivision has been submitted to the attention of the Director of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in Meknes and has not yet been approved.
We confirm that the attached list has been reviewed by the concerned parties and no objections have been registered. We would like to point out that the process of allocating housing spots for low-income people was carried out in coordination with the competent local authorities.”
