Riyadh, 1 June 2024: Al Hilal goalkeeper Yassin Bounou was crowned with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup after his team defeated Al Nasr in the final match on Friday evening on penalties (6-5).
Bounou expressed his great happiness with this achievement, emphasising that his team played a great match against a strong opponent, and said in media statements after the match: ‘We faced a great team in Al Nasr, and we have great players who show their abilities better in difficult times, and this is what we proved today.’
Bono added: ‘Even though we had two players sent off, we maintained a high level, gave a great physical performance, and were able to hold out until the penalty shootout.’
Bono concluded by praising the spirit that prevailed within the team during the season, saying: ‘Al Hilal had an exceptional season, we tried to win all the trophies, we are now like a family, and we feel a strong spirit among the players.’
This is Al Hilal’s third achievement this season, after winning the Roshan League and the Saudi Super Cup, completing the domestic treble under the leadership of the distinguished Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.
