King Mohammed VI’s Casablanca Cabinet approves new appointments to senior positions, here are the details

His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him, chaired on Saturday, 1 June 2024, corresponding to 23 Dhul Qa’dah 1445 AH, at the Royal Palace in Casablanca, a ministerial council dedicated to the approval of the strategic orientations of the State’s contribution policy, a draft regulatory law and a number of draft decrees concerning the military field, in addition to appointments to high-ranking positions.

New appointments to senior positions

In accordance with Article 49 of the Constitution and on the proposal of the Prime Minister, His Majesty the King approved the following appointments:

Equipment and Water Sector:

Moustapha Fares, Director General of the National Ports Agency.

Mohamed Cherkaoui Daqaqi, director general of the National Motorway Company (Société Nationale des Routes de l’Automobile).

Energy transition and sustainable development sector:

Tarek Hamman, Director General of the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water.

Tarek Moufadel, President and Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy.

Transport and Logistics Sector:

Adel Fakir, Director General of the National Office of Airports.

Draft decrees related to the military field

The Ministerial Council also approved a number of draft decrees aimed at strengthening the military field in the Kingdom. These decrees include important measures aimed at improving the professional and social conditions of members of the Royal Armed Forces and developing the defence infrastructure.

New strategic directions

These approvals and appointments come within the framework of the new strategic directions of the State’s contributory policy, which aims to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in various vital sectors.

These decisions reflect His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s commitment to continue developing the country and strengthening its economic, social and defence capabilities by appointing national talents to strategic positions and approving development policies and projects that serve the supreme interests of the country and its citizens.
