The judicial body of the Financial Crimes Chamber of the Court of Appeal in Fez has decided to postpone the start of the trial of the defendants initially convicted in the case of financial and administrative corruption in the Fez community. This postponement excludes the president and the clerk of the Fez Community Council, both of whom belong to the National Rally of Independents (RNI) party.
According to the data, the judicial body considered the session of defendants who have not yet completed their prison sentences, as well as the case of defendants who have completed their sentences convicted in the first instance.
The court decided to set May 29 to start the trial of the defendants in the appeal phase, after responding to the request for an adjournment filed by the lawyer of Abdelkader Boussiri, the third vice president of the council, who was convicted in the first instance of five years of imprisonment, in order to review and prepare the defence. The postponement decision also included the re-summoning of a witness through the public prosecution, who did not attend the hearing despite receiving the notification.
