Mustafa Baytas, the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament and the official government spokesperson, announced that the dedicated digital platform for housing support has received a total of 65,000 applications.
Baytas explained, in a press conference following the government council meeting held yesterday, Thursday, that 20% of these applications were submitted by Moroccans living abroad who are interested in acquiring housing in their homeland, while women submitted 38% of the applications, a figure he considered ‘significant.’
The minister stated that 70% of the requests concern social housing priced at no more than 300,000 dirhams, while 90% of housing support requests have been accepted, with some files still pending completion. He confirmed that ‘the vast majority of housing support applicants meet the eligibility criteria.’
Baytas pointed out that 8,000 applicants have received positive responses indicating acceptance of their requests after completing the procedure, meaning that the government has achieved 50% of the objectives of the housing support project.
The minister described the project as ‘progressing very importantly,’ expressing confidence in its achievement of all its goals.
These positive statistics reaffirm the Moroccan government’s commitment to providing suitable housing for citizens, especially those with limited income, as part of efforts to achieve social development and community justice.
