The Club Committee of the Confederation of African Football announces the loss of the Algiers Sports Union (USMA) and new sanctions are on the horizon

The Clubs Committee of the Confederation of African Football recently ruled the ruling regarding the match between RS Berkane Sports Club and the Sports Federation of Algiers, in the second leg of the semi-finals of the Confederation of African Football.

As expected, the Clubs Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided at the end of its meeting held on Wednesday, May 1, with the unanimous consent of its members, to announce the loss of the Algiers Sports Union (USMA) on the green carpet, (a 3-0 defeat) to RS Berkane ( RSB) in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final.

The committee also decided to refer the file to the Disciplinary Committee of the Confederation of African Football to impose possible sanctions.

The match between Nahda Ennahda and USM Algiers was scheduled for April 28 in Berkane, as the Algerians refused to play if the local team wore its official shirt printed with the full map of Morocco. This was expected after the shameful events that took place in the first stage a week ago. In Algiers, the authorities of the eastern neighbor confiscated the shirts of the Berkane team players and displayed fake shirts without the complete map of Morocco. The match was canceled and USM received the same penalty applied today.
