The USM Capital team had refused CAF’s request to go down to inspect the grounds of Berkane’s municipal stadium, as part of the return match between them and Nahdet Berkane Club in the African Cup semi-final, scheduled for eight o’clock in the evening.
This is at a time when the players and technical staff of the Nahdet Berkane team joined the stadium and were warming up as usual.
It is noteworthy that the first-leg match was marked by the confiscation of the official shirt of RS Berkane at Houari Boumediene Airport in the capital, Algiers, and thus he was unable to play the match, which led to the Algerian team being sanctioned by CAF.
It is also noteworthy that the International Sports Court rejected the Algerian Federation’s complaint and approved CAF’s sanctions on the Algerian Federation of the Capital.
