Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem, President of the Social Welfare Services for the Royal Armed Forces, chaired today, Friday, in Rabat, at the General Command of the Royal Armed Forces, the Administrative Council for the Social Welfare of the Royal Armed Forces.
This meeting comes in implementation of the supreme instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, who attaches special importance to the members of the Royal Armed Forces and their families, ensuring decent living conditions for them and enhancing their social solidarity.
The meeting was attended by the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of National Defense, the Chief Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces, Commander of the Southern Region, the Chief Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie, and members of the Administrative Council for the Social Welfare of the Royal Armed Forces.
During this meeting, the Director General of the Social Welfare Services presented a report on the outcome of various services provided during the past year for the beneficiaries of the social work of the Royal Armed Forces. These services encompassed various areas, including support for peacekeeping operations, Hajj, and the “Marhaba” operation.
The work plan also included medical and social services to support and accompany people with disabilities and parents of children with autism. Solidarity measures were also taken to support the victims of the earthquake in Al Hoceima.
The meeting also discussed the work program for the years 2024-2026, which includes ambitious projects aimed at improving the level of services provided to beneficiaries, enhancing social solidarity, and providing decent living conditions for members of the Royal Armed Forces and their families.
Finally, the Administrative Council approved the necessary budget to implement the work program for the years 2024-2026.
The convening of the Board of Directors, under the effective presidency of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem, embodies the royal care provided by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, for the members of the Royal Armed Forces and their families, by ensuring the provision of all means to improve their living conditions and enhance their social solidarity.
Princess Lalla Meryem’s keenness to enhance the social welfare services of the Royal Armed Forces reflects her strong belief in the importance of the role played by the members of the Royal Armed Forces in preserving the security and sovereignty of the nation, and their contribution to achieving comprehensive development.
