Elements of the National Judicial Police Brigade, in cooperation with the services of the General Directorate of National Territory Surveillance, were able to arrest two brothers who were the subject of national search warrants, on suspicion of their involvement in a criminal network active in the field of fraud and deception, especially in the framework of what is known as pyramid marketing.
According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security, a judicial investigation was opened following complaints of fraud and deception filed by a number of people in various cities of the Kingdom, where they were robbed of financial sums under false promises of obtaining financial returns from investment and attracting investors in a foreign company.
During the operation, 13 charging devices bearing the visual identity of a foreign pyramid marketing company were seized, in addition to three laptops and three mobile phones containing digital traces of this criminal activity, and a sum of money suspected of being the proceeds of criminal acts.
The two suspected brothers were kept in police custody at the disposal of the judicial investigation, and investigations and inquiries are still underway to arrest the rest of those involved in this criminal activity.
