Members of the National Judicial Police Division were able, at midday today, Wednesday, April 17, to arrest three foreign citizens of Chinese, Ukrainian, and Lithuanian nationalities, between the ages of 22 and 25, because they are the subject of international arrest warrants issued by the American judicial authorities, on suspicion of… Their association with criminal networks active in international drug smuggling and laundering money obtained from criminal proceeds.

The three foreign suspects were arrested in simultaneous security operations in the city of Marrakesh, in the context of the distinguished bilateral cooperation between the Moroccan security services and their counterparts in the United States of America.

The process of checking the arrested persons in the databases of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) showed that they are the subject of international arrest warrants issued at the request of the American judicial authorities, due to their association with the activity of criminal cartels active in the international promotion of drugs, especially the drug “fentaline”, as well as laundering. The financial proceeds of this criminal activity.

The suspects were placed under theoretical guard pending investigation supervised by the competent Public Prosecution, while the National Central Office, “Interpol Rabat Office”, affiliated with the General Directorate of National Security, was assigned to notify its counterpart in the United States of America of the arrest incident pending the extradition procedure. .

The arrest of the suspects comes within the context of international security cooperation relations, as well as within the framework of the efforts made by Moroccan security services to pursue persons sought at the international level in cases of transnational crime.
