This morning, Tuesday, April 16, 2024, elements of the prefectural service of the judicial police in Casablanca, in coordination with the services of the General Directorate of National Surveillance, were able to dismantle a criminal gang composed of four people, all with criminal records, for their suspected involvement in committing a burglary using a break-in from inside a jewelry store.
Details of the Operation:A jewelry store in the Maarif district was the target of a burglary in the early hours of Tuesday, April 9, 2024. The suspects assaulted and gagged the night guard before breaking the store’s locks and stealing a large quantity of jewelry and a metal safe containing additional jewelry.The judicial police services, supported by crime scene technicians, proceeded to inspect the crime scene.The investigations and inquiries carried out, supported by the results of the expertise of the scientific and technical police laboratory, led to the identification of the suspects and their arrest during simultaneous security operations carried out this morning in the Hay Mohamedi and Maarif districts in Casablanca.The search procedures carried out made it possible to seize the safe and the stolen jewelry.Two light vehicles, forged license plates, white weapons, equipment for breaking locks, gloves, and masks hiding diagnostic data were also seized, which are suspected of having been used in carrying out this criminal operation.The suspects have been subjected to judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent general prosecutor’s office.The investigations aim to uncover all the circumstances and details of this case, as well as to arrest the rest of the contributors and participants in the commission of these criminal acts.
