The anti-gang unit in the city of Salé successfully apprehended two individuals on Friday, April 12th, caught in the act of trafficking 2,090 narcotic pills.
The arrest operation, based on precise intelligence provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, followed the observation of suspicious movements by the suspects in one of the neighborhoods of Salé. Upon arrival of the security forces at the scene, they managed to arrest the suspects and seize a large quantity of narcotic pills, in addition to a motorcycle and a sum of money suspected to be proceeds from illegal drug trafficking.
During the search operation, the confiscated shipment of narcotic pills, a motorcycle, and a sum of money suspected to be proceeds from illegal drug trafficking were found.
The suspects have been placed under provisional custody pending further judicial proceedings under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, to uncover all circumstances and details of this case, as well as to apprehend all potential accomplices involved in these criminal activities.
This operation is part of the continuous efforts exerted by the General Directorate of National Security to combat the phenomenon of drugs and psychotropic substances and enhance public security in the kingdom.
