Accurate Information from DST Enables the Anti-Gang Unit to Arrest 35 ‘Harragas’, Including Minors, in Agadir

The anti-gang unit of the Agadir Security Directorate, on Friday, April 12th, successfully apprehended a 41-year-old individual suspected of involvement in a criminal network engaged in organizing illegal immigration and human trafficking.

The arrest operation, based on precise information provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, followed the observation of suspicious movements by the suspect in the Trast neighborhood of Inezgane city. Upon arrival of security forces at the scene, the individual was caught in the act of preparing for an illegal migration operation via maritime routes, intended for 35 candidates, including six minors.

During the search operation, varying amounts of money suspected to have been obtained from the proceeds of these criminal activities were found.

The main suspect and the adult candidates have been placed under provisional custody, while the detained minors are being kept under supervision pending further judicial proceedings under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.

This operation aims to combat illegal immigration and human trafficking, and to enhance public security in the kingdom.
