The President of the French National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet, is conducting an official working visit to Morocco from December 11 to 13, 2024, as part of a parliamentary diplomacy mission aimed at strengthening relations between the two countries.
Braun-Pivet is accompanied by a parliamentary delegation including the Vice President of the National Assembly, Naïma Moutchou, and the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Bruno Fuchs. This visit follows the signing of the Enhanced Exceptional Partnership Declaration between Morocco and France by King Mohammed VI and President Emmanuel Macron in Rabat last October, reflecting the positive dynamics in bilateral relations between the two countries.
The visit program includes several high-level meetings. Braun-Pivet is scheduled to meet with Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch on Thursday in Rabat. She will also meet with the President of the Moroccan House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, on Wednesday, where they will sign a “parliamentary cooperation protocol” between the two sides.
On Friday, December 13, the French official will participate in the closing ceremony of the parliamentary twinning between the French National Assembly and the Moroccan House of Representatives, before meeting with the President of the House of Advisors, Mohamed Ould Errachid.
The visit will also include meetings with Moroccan economic actors, civil society representatives, and members of the French community in Morocco, reflecting the desire to enhance cooperation at various levels between the two countries.
This visit is part of the effort to strengthen bilateral relations between Morocco and France, aiming to consolidate parliamentary cooperation and exchange experiences between the legislative institutions of both countries.
